Clean :D

Filed under: — Josh Wardell @ 8:40 am

We had an amazing 65-degree sunny day yesterday. I was amazed to find myself with nothing to do (finally), so I took advantage of both, ran the hose out the window, and started on the first wash of the season.

My neighborhood knows me, I am out there all day…

Wash with dish soap. Claybar, Wash with car wash. Spray with filtered water. A coat of Z1 then a coat of Z2. Wait a while and buff off, then a second coat of Z2 & buff.
Not to mention detailing the rims and peanut oiling the trim.

I forgot just how great black looks when clean. 🙂 That’s why I got it.

I also installed two little goodies that arrives on saturday. Locking mini logo valve step caps–they brilliantly have an outer ring the spins freely preventing kids from adding them to their bicycles. Thank ebay for that one. And secondly, some fierce eyes for inside the engine bay…I took advantage of motorswag’s april fool’s sale.

Sadly it was almost dark by the time I was finished so I have no photos. But at least I can take photos in the future now that that coat of winter grime is gone!

What better to do on such a nice day?

My MINI’s back and some weekend MINI adventures

Filed under: — Josh Wardell @ 8:55 am

I was just about to pull my hair out without my MINI all last week when I got the call from Julian just before lunch, it was ready! So a very brisk drive up to Sublime in the rental to see my feels-like-new MINI with new sneakers and freshly cleaned inside and out.

I couldn’t try anything out back to work and afterwards due to the fact that I only had drops left in the tank. Then the heavy rains moved in for saturday (and cancelled our plans for a quick day of skiing).

Sunday saved the day… a few of us met up for a nice cruise (and that would certainly be the wrong word for some sections!) through the South Shore, including some historical sites such as Plymouth Rock, the Mayflower (II), and the country’s first divided highway:

Ian -who’s birthday it is today!- has a nice writeup on his blog.

site update

Filed under: — Josh Wardell @ 11:00 pm

I’ve been so frustrated being without my MINI this week that I was driven to update my home page! Also I think it was recent links by popular sites like Ian’s sending people to my web site that is so old it doesn’t even link to my MINI, or even my Focus, pages! Plus, after recently completing the Sublime website, I would like to take on some more small business sites. But I can’t do that if my own page is several years out of date now could I?

So viper stripes have been added. Doesn’t that make it faster? 😉 check it out.
